While researching blogs to provide my followers with the best possible experience I noticed that most blogs focus on the same topics: Food, Travel, Health and Fitness, Lifestyle, Fashion and Beauty.
I also noticed that almost all of these blogs are directed to younger woman, and occasionally, younger men. There are 54+ million citizens over the age of 65 in the United States — that’s approximately 16.5 percent of the American population. Baby boomers are the second largest group of citizens and will continue to be a major part of the population.
So what about us boomers?
I originally started My Boho Secret to share my journey of discovery into who I am meant to be. Although I’m still learning and discovering I’ve already learned an important lesson.
There are many (many) me’s out there on the same road – searching for the same thing.
Women and men of all ages from all walks of life are questioning their previous life choices and wondering if that’s all there is. I speak to them daily. People I thought were happy and content with their lives surprise me with their longing for something more. Not everyone, of course, but enough for me to realize that I’m far from alone in my confusion.
I identify as boho because I’ve always been boho, I just never realized it before I started searching for the truth about my life. It’s often hard to recognize our own unhappiness. I was forced to face my reality last year after a series of jarring personal traumas and the journey is giving me much comfort and a sense of belonging to something bigger than me.
I hope that sharing my blog with you gives you a sense of comfort too.
So if the plethora of standard blogs doesn’t do it for you I welcome you to come here often and share my journey as I go through this growing process. You might be going through the same thing yourself and maybe we can support each other. At the end of each blog post there’s a comment section and if you feel like sharing I would love to hear from you.
