Live like a free spirit

As a tree sheds it’s leaves in the fall I am learning to shed old behaviors and attitudes and work towards healing mind and body. The book I’m reading, The Secret, has been helpful in keeping my mind focused on what really matters as I go through this process. It’s an exciting process, filled with hope for a better tomorrow.

Shedding old behaviors takes time, energy, and commitment. Since it’s impossible to undo the past all we can do is create a new tomorrow. The lessons I’m learning from The Secret are a guidepost towards that goal. As I go through the steps I find myself becoming an interesting and exciting new version of myself and I’m drawn to behaviors and actions that match my new mindset. Since last year when the seeds of this change began percolating in the back of my mind I’ve lost 40 unwanted pounds and I’m in the process of buying new clothes, jewelry and accessories to match my new lifestyle. A few months ago I even hand-made (and hand-sewed) a Bohemian cover for my couch from 6 pounds of denim scraps. It looks fabulous. The rest of my home will experience a similar makeover.

There’s something very peaceful about the process of rebirth, and at the same time the joy, in its ecstasy, is almost indescribable.

  • We are never too old to reinvent ourselves.
  • We are never too old to choose a different path.
  • We are never too old to walk away from the past and embrace a shiny new future.
  • We are never too old to be who we were meant to be.

We are never too old.

Love this. We are never too old. A good mantra to go by.

For some the idea of reinventing is out of the realm of possibility. But the truth is, thought creates action, regardless of age.
